BUT I STILL RESPECT WOMEN - Smokepurpp

Smokepurpp  can be considered one of the founding fathers of SoundCloud rap. Whether you love him or you hate him, he deserves his respect in that aspect. A sound that's been wildly popular for the last few years was brought to the forefront by artists like Smokepurpp and now, he's using that to his advantage. With his platform, he's been able to do some good with his  new Purppavis brand . He's also stuck up for his homies throughout it all, supporting  Lil Pump 's journey to the top. The Florida rapper is currently preparing his next project  Deadstar 2 , which is nearing release, but he wanted to give the fans something quick before then. This is exactly how we want to hear Purpp. There is no silly business going on here, just a quick flow as he spits for two minutes straight. His fans seem impressed too as they've been sliding into the comments to praise him for this effort. Of course, the lyrical content is nothing to marvel over but we don't exp...

Birdman & Lil Wayne End Beef

Lil Wayne  and  Birdman  didn't just party together on New Year's Eve ... they are trying to reconcile after a nasty fight that has turned into a legal war. We've learned  Mack Maine  arranged for a phone conference between Wayne and Birdman 2 hours before  Drake's party . The 2 discussed their conflict over Young Money and the millions Birdman allegedly owes his protegee. Our sources say both Wayne and Birdman have strong feelings about burying the hatchet. That said, we're told Wayne will not move to dismiss  his lawsuit  unless and until they reach an agreement. As for why they came together, we're told Mack Maine has a lot of influence, especially with Wayne, and opened his mind to a settlement.

Lil Wayne Signs New Deal With Jay Z

Lil Wayne dropped a bombshell Saturday that left fans simultaneously celebrating and speculating over what it could mean. "I just signed a deal with my motherf--king idol, Jay Z," said the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, as he took the stage at KMEL Summer Jam.  The crowd erupted in cheers and rumors started spreading through the internet: Did this mean Lil Wayne was signing with Jay Z's Roc Nation label amid a long-running beef with his current label, Cash Money Records?  Not so, Lil Wayne's manager  told Billboard . Lil Wayne was referring to his involvement with Tidal, Jay Z's music subscription service, Cortez Bryant said. Lil Wayne joined Tidal as a co-owner this month,  according to Forbes , and dropped an exclusive new track "Glory" to celebrate. "The Internet and blogs took his words out of context," Bryant told Billboard. "When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an ...

Lil Wayne Throws Mic at DJ & Storms Off Stage During Show

Lil Wayne was tyring to keep the vibe going at his concert at Fort Lauderdale's Nova Southeastern University, but things went downhill when the rapper was ready to perform his "CoCo" freestyle.  When it came time for the DJ to spin the song, he played the original version with O.T. Genasis instead of Wayne's version. The Young Money CEO turned around and glared at the DJ, and when he didn't cut the song Weezy threw the microphone at his booth.  Check out the footage above.  SUBSCRIBE

Birdman Disappointed in Lil Wayne's Diss Songs

Birdman  is angry at  Lil Wayne  for "disrespecting" him in his latest song ... and he will NOT voluntarily release the rapper from Cash Money ... sources connected with the mogul tell TMZ. Our sources say Birdman is angry on 2 fronts ... that Wayne is trying to bail on a binding contract and even more personal, he's putting their relationship on blast. Wayne's song, "I'm Sorry for the Wait," is especially galling to Birdman because he feels the man he calls "son" is treating him like some random producer. As we reported, lawyers and others for Wayne and Birdman are in talks, but Wayne has  threatened a lawsuit  if his album isn't released.  Our Birdman sources say the mogul won't budge and will only release the album on his terms. And he will fight Wayne if he sues to get out of his contract.

Lil Wayne Might Be Suing Birdman Soon

Lil Wayne is ready to take his feud with Birdman to the next level ... threatening to drag him and Cash Money into court if they don't drop his album NOW.  Sources very close to the feud tell TMZ ... Wayne has issued a simple ultimatum, in writing, no less -- release "Tha Carter V" pronto ... or he will sue to leave Cash Money altogether. We're told Wayne is standing firm in his belief the album is ready to go -- but Birdman still says there's  a lot of behind-the-scenes work  left to be done.  Wayne and Birdman still aren't speaking to each other. We're told Wayne is only focused on the album. When and if that gets done, he'll worry about fixing the friendship ... if that's even possible now.

Lil Wayne Wants Out Of Cash Money

If it seems like  Lil Wayne 's upcoming album,  Tha Carter V , has gotten caught in a holding pattern, that's because the rapper says it is. In a  series of tweets , Weezy criticized Cash Money – the label that has released all of his albums and is home to the Young Money imprint he founded – likening his contract to a prison sentence. "To all my fans, I want you to know that my album won't and hasn't been released bekuz [label co-founder] Baby and Cash Money Records refuse to release it," he wrote. "This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation. "I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy," he continued. "I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I don't blame ya if ya fed up with waiting for me and this album. But thank you." A Cash Money representative did ...

VladTV has exclusively learned from a very reliable source that Diplomat and Harlem's own Juelz Santana has been in serious talks with YMCMB about joining the label. If this turns out to be true, it will be the next step in a series of rumored new collaborations between Lil Wayne and Santana. Lil Wayne Believes Teacher Was Wrong For Assigning His Lyrics

In an interview during ESPN'S First Take at NBA All Star-Weekend, the rapper addressed the recent controversy in Florida. It was previously reported  that a Florida teacher was suspended after giving his eighth grade students lyrics to Wayne's "6 Foot 7 Foot" single as homework. The rapper believes that his singles aren't meant to be taught, especially to children. He discusses the lyrics at the 7:50 mark.  "I'd never be embarrassed by anything I say because I say it and I mean it," Lil Wayne said. "But I don't think that kids—I mean, I don't think that you should be trying to teach it any way to kids because I don't record it and say it for kids to listen to it, but they will hear it. But it's a difference between hearing and listening. You know? So, not that it's okay for them to hear it, but if they hear it then so be it. They hear it. But when you trying to teach them to listen to it that's a difference and ...

Lil wayne plans to retire after The carter V

Before releasing "The Carter V," it's been rumored that the album will be the last in Lil Wayne's long and successful rap career. Cash Money's Senior VP Mel Smith tweeted last Friday that the album would be dropping "soon," which means that if the rumors are true, Wayne could be making an exit from hip hop as early as this year.  When he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show, Wayne said "I want to retire after Tha Carter V, which I hope would be my last album."  Source:  theurbandaily.com
