Earl Sweatshirt Interviews Mike Tyson

In a back-and-forth discussion, Earl Sweatshirt interviewed Mike Tyson for  Humanity Magazine . During the conversation,  the Odd Future rapper  introduces himself as a 20-year old kid from Los Angeles who is in the same place of success that Tyson was at his age. The boxer asks the rapper about his music career and  Sweatshirt  goes on to explain how he became a part of Odd Future. He compares their rise in popularity to that of punk music because they are both underground and don’t utilize radio. “We like developed on our own, like self-sustaining like fan base that was separate,” Sweatshirt says. “So when I was like 14, I was getting better at rapping, like running around L.A., trying to find like people to do music with. And I linked up with this dude  Tyler . And he had this whole thing going on already. We started making music, and it was like, it was idiot music, but it was really, I think, what we had in hindsight, what attracted so many people to it was potential. Like we were

RZA Speaks on Eric Garner

During an interview with  Gawker , RZA spoke on the death of Eric Garner and addressed the continuing questions surrounding police brutality in America. RZA says  the death of Garner , who was fatally choked by New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo, was not just about race. “It wasn't just a Black, White thing, it was about authority and about empowering a man who didn't have power before and who overexerted his power,”  RZA  says. “When it comes down to the race issue, it looked to me, the whole situation reminded me of the guys in my neighborhood who would get jumped, guys who didn't belong there. You would think that Staten Island [where Garner was killed and RZA was raised] would have grown past aggression.” When asked whether or not he thought the police officers acted aggressively, RZA says the footage looked like a “gang fight.” “Those gentlemen were wrong — the cop had a utility belt of options for different escalating scenarios,” RZA says. “He had a stick, p

Lil Wayne Might Be Suing Birdman Soon

Lil Wayne is ready to take his feud with Birdman to the next level ... threatening to drag him and Cash Money into court if they don't drop his album NOW.  Sources very close to the feud tell TMZ ... Wayne has issued a simple ultimatum, in writing, no less -- release "Tha Carter V" pronto ... or he will sue to leave Cash Money altogether. We're told Wayne is standing firm in his belief the album is ready to go -- but Birdman still says there's  a lot of behind-the-scenes work  left to be done.  Wayne and Birdman still aren't speaking to each other. We're told Wayne is only focused on the album. When and if that gets done, he'll worry about fixing the friendship ... if that's even possible now.

Azelia Banks Disses Action Bronson

Following a candid discussion with Hot 97 about the place of white appropriation in Hip Hop and Black culture more generally and its relevance to her issues with  Iggy Azalea  and  T.I. ,   Azealia Banks  ended up in a Twitter spat with  Action Bronson  after a fan asked her about other white rappers and included the rapper's name in the Tweet. Before Banks addressed the  Dr. Lecter  emcee herself, Bronson jumped in and wrote, "Dont ever in lifes history mention my name in a slanderous manner." Banks quickly responded herself and the ensuing back-and-forth included a shot from Banks about Bronson's voice, weight, and more. Action Bronson fired back continuously, deriding Banks' body type and more.
