Harlem's Anti-LGBT Church Pastor Speaks On Infamous Signs

Harlem's ATLAH Missionary Church isn't widely known for it's community efforts but for it's anti-LGBT and offensive signs outside of the church. Dr. James David Manning, the church's pastor has been vocal in the meaning of the signs and dismisses critics of the infamous marquee. Speaking out against protesters last month, Manning stated outcry about the signs has been unwanted since he isn't bothered when critics say inflammatory remarks to him. "You can put something up about me and and I would not be offended," he said. "I promise, I won't sit here and argue with you. If you put up something that says "I'm an ex-con,' I wouldn't be offended." He's also stood against the Supreme Court's decision to legalize marriages between LGBT couples. "The scotus has sealed the fate of sodomites to burn in hell. Demons now official US citizens," he posted on Facebook Friday. When it comes to the

Former record executive and reality star Mickey "Memphitz" Wright is a wanted man after he allegedly stole a phone from a car wash employee in Atlanta. According to WSBTV, the reality star came to the Club Corners Carwash for a cleaning on Thursday. Harold Huntley, an employee at the business says he got in the car to drive it through the wash. After cleaning the car, Memphiz approached him with claims that he stole marijuana from inside the Jeep. Huntley says he smelled the drug in the car, but didn't take anything. "He comes back and is like, 'You stole my weed, you stole my weed.' I was like, 'Nah, man,' and then he pulled a gun out on me and was like, 'It's gonna be your life or it's gonna be my weed,'" Huntley said. Video cameras caught the moment Memphitz tried to attack Huntley. He also took his phone before running away. "He was like, 'Man just give me the phone, give me the phone. What's it g

Ever since  Bobby Shmurda's bail was withdrawn in early February , the self-proclaimed "Hot N****" has remained behind bars with the rest of the GS9 crew.  The members- including Rowdy Rebel - have over 100 charges combined, and today (June 25) they appeared in court for their first trial hearing. All of the incarcerated members of GS9 were given a new trial date of  October 5  by Judge James Burke at the Manhattan Supreme Court. The judge expressed his hope that it will be a "meaningful start date." Bobby - who is now being labeled as the "mastermind" behind the crew - was given an eight-year plea deal, to which he denied. The up and coming rapper has been charged with "multiple conspiracy counts, one count of reckless endangerment, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia," according to REVOLT. DMX Arrested For Failure To Pay Child Support In New York

DMX was arrested just minutes before he was scheduled to perform at Radio City Music Hall for failed child support payments Friday evening, NY Daily News reports. The rapper arrived at the New York midtown venue before midnight. Concert goers of the "Masters of Ceremony" concert witnessed the rapper taken into police custody as soon as he stepped out his car. Witnesses who took to social media also claimed guns were drawn. Other performers at the concert included Ma$e , The Lox (minus Styles P) and Shabba Ranks. The rapper has a dozen children with several women. Over the years, he's been accused of ignoring child support payments. After a failed attempt to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy for his problems with child support, a judge ordered $15,000 a month from the rapper's wages at Universal Music Group would be taken and given to his ex wife and mother of his four children, Tashera Simmons. In the past, the rapper has been arrested for drug possession,

South Carolina Cop Fired For Flaunting Rebel Flag Boxers Online

With moves to remove the Confederate Flag from retail stores and state landmarks, the North Charleston, South Carolina police force have fired an officer for posing in rebel flag underwear on Facebook. According to The Post & Courier, Shannon Dildine, a veteran of the force was given the pink slip for violating the county's laws. Police Chief Eddie Driggers handed him the letter on Wednesday stating the officer made him incapable of being a North Charleston officer. Driggers also called the arrest a prerequisite to avoid legal trouble. In the event Dildine were to arrest a minority, the photo would be more than likely used to show the cop's potential bias. Earlier this week, Gov. Nikki Haley called for the Confederate flag to be removed from the state house after Charleston gunman Dylann Roof was seen posing with it before he killed nine people in the Mother Emanuel Church. Dildine has ten days to appeal the firing. Check out a portion of the officer'

Joey Bada$$ & Troy Ave Throw Subs at Each Other Over Album Sales

Two of New York's hottest upcoming rappers had Twitter on fire after the they were caught taking subliminal shots at one another. Yesterday Brooklyn natives Joey Badass and Troy Ave came at each other over album sales and who the best independent artist is between themselves.  About two weeks ago Troy Ave - a.k.a. Mr. "Major Without a Deal" - addressed the fact that he had only sold 7,708 copies of his latest album in its first week, and claimed that despite the low numbers, he's on "the #1 independent label in the streets." Apparently Joey Bada$$ - who released "B4.DA.$$" back in January - caught wind of the comment and decided to tweet out a friendly "reminder" that he "sold 57,000+ albums in his first week," making  him the "#1 Independent Hip Hop artist/brand in the world." A few hours after Joey tweeted out his stats, Troy Ave went on to talk about about a "fake independent" rapper whose

Nipsey Hussle Arrested for Having Codeine Without Prescription

Nipsey Hussle was busted for having a bottle of codeine in his car without a prescription after cops pulled him over for not driving with a license plate. Burbank police Lt. Adam Cornils revealed that Nipsey had an outstanding warrant for driving on a suspended license, leading to a further investigation of the rapper's car. After looking inside, police found the codeine, along with a soft drink and a cup of ice, which are used to make sizzurp when combined. Lt. Cornils added, "People who abuse codeine to get high commonly acquire it either from friends/associates or through fraudulent prescriptions, and remove the prescription label to mask where it came from and who it was prescribed to." Nipsey was released after posting $1,000 bail.

The Game Ft. Drake - 100

As we anticipate Game's "The Documentary 2," the West Coast rapper has decided to drop another track off his upcoming album. "100" sees Drake on the hook and a verse as the two go back and forth over a soulful beat produced by Johnny Juliano & Cardo. Last week Drake showed up in Game's Compton neighborhood to shoot a video with him, leading us to believe that "100" will be Game's newest single . Press play to hear the two rap about keeping it "8 more than 92" above.

Lupe Fiasco Addresses White Supremacy In Three-Part Open Letter

The massacre of nine church members in Charleston has kept the issues of racism, media biases and ultimately white supremacy to the forefront. Lupe Fiasco has joined in the conversation with a special open letter on Instagram. Never one to hold back on any topic, the rapper breaks down white supremacy's misguided goals, similarities of many racial identities and more. Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old white supremacist who killed nine African Americans in the historic Emanuel AME Church Wednesday night was found the following day and given a million dollar bond for a gun possession charge. He has yet to be charged with murders of the church members. Over the weekend, an alleged manifesto of Roof's was found online and a site with photos of the terrorist. Lupe uses images of Roof to denounce the powers the shooter and the identity of a white supremacist. "There is nothing about you biologically or physically that denotes an innate mode of supremacy," he

Azealia Banks Says Rachel Dolezal Scandal Is Like a MADtv Skit

Yesterday, Rachel Dolezal appeared on the Today Show telling the nation, "I identify as Black." The former NAACP President of the Washington Chapter , has been enduring a media firestorm  since the news broke that she has been falsely living her life as a Black woman. The often outspoken Azealia Banks, who isn't shy about utilizing social media to share her thoughts, hopped on her personal Twitter to reflect upon the whole Rachel Dolezal scandal. As the Harlem rapper started her dialogue,  she asked, "Ok and this is it: why must one become a caricature of a black person to associate themselves with blackness/black institutions?" After letting people know she's been talking about this for years, she expressed some humor posting her thoughts on Rachel's chosen hairstyle, "LMFAO AT HER KINKY CURLY YAKI WIG THOOOOO OMGGGG." For more of Azealia's thoughts check out the slide and be sure to leave a comment with your thoughts.

Scrilla King to Former Friend Chet Haze: See Me In the Streets

Meet Scrilla King - an upcoming rap artist and former friend of Chet Haze. You know the story: Tom Hank's son became famous for using the n-word moreso than he has with his music career. Chet used the term so frequently that he began losing friends, and interestingly enough still stands behind his belief that anyone, Black or White, has the right to say it to their friends if there's an understanding - Scrilla on the other hand clearly feels differently. "I'm never gonna stand by him for what he did" he tells us in this exclusive clip. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native stopped talking to the "fairly well-off" rapper after over six months ago after he used the word when speaking to him. "We were chillin' at the studio and we went outside to smoke or something, and during the process of going upstairs to downstairs, he slipped out and said it," Scrilla remembers, adding that he said nothing to him about the word at first because he "di

Chris Brown Slams ex girlfriend

Chris Brown isn't happy with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche and her thoughts on their broken relationship. Shortly after clips of  her Access Hollywood interview  about her relationship with Brown and her show "The Bay" we shared on popular gossip site, The Shade Room, the singer commented on a clip where Kae speaks on Chris having too much baggage for her. "Honestly it's so f****** pointless to keep doing interviews about me," he wrote on Instagram. "Da f*** you keep doing interviews about me for. Talk about your career. Yes, I have a daughter, yes I'm going to man up to take care of her. I won't let you get the pleasure of prying into my personal life. S*** is getting weak now." During her interview with Access Hollywood, the singer briefly discusses her role on the web series "The Bay," and her future endeavors. While some fans commended the singer for defending him and his daughter, others called him out for discussing Rih

Lil Wayne dropped a bombshell Saturday that left fans simultaneously celebrating and speculating over what it could mean. "I just signed a deal with my motherf--king idol, Jay Z," said the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, as he took the stage at KMEL Summer Jam.  The crowd erupted in cheers and rumors started spreading through the internet: Did this mean Lil Wayne was signing with Jay Z's Roc Nation label amid a long-running beef with his current label, Cash Money Records?  Not so, Lil Wayne's manager  told Billboard . Lil Wayne was referring to his involvement with Tidal, Jay Z's music subscription service, Cortez Bryant said. Over 300 Americans Killed By Police enforcement this year

According to a Washington Post analysis, the 385 victims amount to more than two people getting killed a day by those who are supposed to protect and serve -- and unfortunately, officials say the count is incomplete. The Washington Post's statistics show that of those killed, almost 50% were White, while the other half were minorities and the age range of people killed the most was between 25 and 34. In all, the death ages range from 16 to 83. Dozens died while trying to flee police, and 1 in 6 of those killed were unarmed or carried a toy gun. To put this into perspective, UK police have only killed 52 people within the past 100 years, according to  The Free Thought Project . Share your thoughts about the absurd number of Americans killed this year by the cops below.

Young Money signee Widner "Flow" Degruy is wanted for the murder of brothers Kendrick and Kindred Bishop, aged 22 and 18, in eastern New Orleans. New Orleans Police have released footage of the rapper and an unnamed subject, whom they believe were possibly leaving the scene of the crime. According to officials, the above footage shows Flow wearing a dark colored hoodie while making a purchase in a store while accompanied by an unknown suspect.  The Bishop brothers were found dead inside a Kia sedan in the 4800 block of Bright Drive in eastern New Orleans on May 25, after being fatally shot. Police have no motive for the shooting, but a warrant has been issued for Flow who police say would face two counts of second-degree murder.

Tom Hanks Son Rapper Chet Hanks Uses " N-Word in Instagram Post "

Chet Haze came under extreme scrutiny after  using the n-word in a Instagram video , and Tom Hank's rapper son explained that he feels the right to use the word at certain times.  The L.A.-born entertainer told his Instagram followers, "Look, I know the majority of y'all are not going to get this, because the history is still so fresh in our country, but Hip-Hop isn't about race. It's about the culture you identify with. And can't no one tell me what I can't say."  He later shared another video, telling fans that he would never go up to a stranger and say something like, "what's up my n***a," and Chet added that the use of the word "is an unspoken thing between friends who understand each other."
