Freddie Gibbs New video lands police officer in Jail

Back in 2009, Freddie Gibbs did a behind-the-scenes video that featured Gary, Indiana Police Patrolman Jason Johnson under the microscope of his police department. Officer Johnson has since faced some consequences for allowing his patrol car to be used as a prop in the video that shows various individuals smoking weed and throwing up gang related hand signs. Apparently, he's had his patrol car privileges suspended and is required to take an ethics class, on top of having to face a hearing from the police commission.

Police Chief Wade Ingram released the following statement regarding the matter:

"When matters like this arise, our approach continues to be proactive. We are policing ourselves as well as the citizens. We will do everything in our power to ensure that any illegal behavior by Gary police officers will not be tolerated."

Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson also chimed in on the subject at hand.

"This goes beyond ethics. This has to do with character. It is our intent to take aggressive measures to confirm what we already know — that the overwhelming majority of the members of the Gary Police Department are hard working and law abiding."
