Lil wayne plans to retire after The carter V

Before releasing "The Carter V," it's been rumored that the album will be the last in Lil Wayne's long and successful rap career. Cash Money's Senior VP Mel Smith tweeted last Friday that the album would be dropping "soon," which means that if the rumors are true, Wayne could be making an exit from hip hop as early as this year.

When he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show, Wayne said "I want to retire after Tha Carter V, which I hope would be my last album."

Tyga Reacts to Criticism Over "The Gold Album" Sales

Tyga recently released his latest project, "The Gold Album," on Spotify, SoundCloud, and YouTube for free due to his conflicts with YMCMB, so the rapper was shocked that he was getting criticism over album sales. The L.A.-born emcee took to Twitter to respond to Complex writing a story about how Nielsen SoundScan showed the album selling a mere 2,200 copies. Tyga said that he didn't even intend to make money off of the project and added, "Yall mfs is funny. I put my album out myself for free on spotify, soundcloud, YouTube to stream. Didn't plan on selling it Kuz of label problems. It's a dope album. Got a lot of great feedback and millions of streams."
